The acquisition of
approximately 35 additional acres helps to further establish this park as one of the
premier "regional" type parks in the area. It's close proximity to the Great Northcm Trail
is also exciting ai this is one of the designated regional trail corridors of the Sherburne
County Parks, Trails, and Open Space Plan. Contiguous park land along this comdor
helps to provide wildlife habitat, enhances scenic experiences along the trails, and
ensures for less fragmented natural lands for the public to enjoy.
As you already know, Sherburne County is one of the fastest growing areas of the state.
Providing parks and facilities that offer a variety of recreational opportunities involving
all:tges and audiences has a compounding benefit-ea other parks, trails, and rcc;reational
activities is the area. We fully support your project and the acquisition planned.
Sincerely,
Tim Edgeton
Sherburne County Parks Coordinator
500'd kiZb ~Or 90/0L/Z0 SSrrSE9E9G uoilea.l~ab .aanit{~I9
