23 November 2010 Elk River Ice Arena Complex Renovations • architects We also discussed the replacement of the Direct Refrigeration system in the Olympic arena with a new Indirect System that would operate both arena sheets. The piping in the floor of the Olympic Arena would need to be replaced to be compatible with the Indirect System at that point reducing the floe size down to NHL could be discussed. We anticipate we will be providing Concept Sketches on some level for these three options and possibly more for the Design Committee to review before coming to agreement on the path they wish to proceed. Traditionally we propose to proceed with the Concept Design/Programming Phased based on an hourly basis based on an estimate of time we feel will be needed to complete the Concept Design/Programming Phase. During this process the better we work as a Design Committee the more efficient we will be in time for decision making thus reducing your exposure to fees. You will only be billed for the hours worked and you will only be working with senior staff members who are experience in Arena Design. HTG isprepared to proceed with the initial programming meeting with the Elk River Design Committee.Following that meeting we will proceed to provide. the Architectural Concept Design/ Programming as noted herein and assist '- the City of Elk River in securing a preliminary development budget for an hourly estimated amount: of Thirty Thousand Dollars $30;000 plus our reimbursable expense. Should it become apparent the amount of time in decision making and or the number of options asked for in the design process exceed our original time estimate you will be notified in writing that an agreed to adjustment will • need to be made to the original estimated hourly fee amount. Our staff is available to begin the Concept Design/Programming service by attending the initial meeting with the City of Ells Rivers Selected Arena Design Committee..
