• Clock repair. The clock has been repaired and is once again hanging in the
library!
• Cabinets for PAC's- this project is temporarily on hold as the shelving project is
finalized to assure that there is sufficient money for both projects.
Ms. Miller will send a thank you to the family of Mabel Stebley. Ms. Stebley's
family donated memorials to the Elk River Library. The money is currently in St.
Cloud GRRL in a gift fund. When the family decides what they would like the
money spent on, Elk River will get the money back to make those purchases.
Memorial monies are not on the Elk River Library annual reports as it doesn't
happen that ofren. Some discussion was held that the memorial monies should be
listed on the annual report.
Term limits were obtained for
follows:
• Gloria Bailey
• Jennifer Sharp
• Leslie Anderson
• Jeri Miller
• Geraldine Graham
each of the Library Board members and are as
12/31/2004
12/31/2003
12/31!2004
12/31/2002
12/31/2002
Other
Ms. Stoffer's reviewed for the board members her budget meeting held in June.
The floor mat rental will continue, the library will purchase an additional book cart and
the summer librazy program will reallocate spending so that advertisement gets a greater
emphasis. (The city can now make banners. The library will save the banners from year
to year.)
The line item for Capital Outlay ($3,500) was added to building repair and maintenance,
as nothing was needed at the $3,500.00 dollar level. This will help the library be able to
obtain the PAC carts and the flooring. There will be an increase in programming.
Mr. Klaers, City Administrator, has requested a map of the areas served by GRRL. Ms,
Allen will supply a map.
The city has started preliminary library expansion sketches. The anticipated wait is 5
years plus at this point. Discussion was held on the Library's ability to meet the needs of
a rapidly growing community.
Upcoming events for September: "Sign up for a Library Card' and `Challenged Books.
Next meeting is August 20, 2002 at 6:30 PM
Meeting adjourned at 7:25 PM
Respectfully submitted,
Jeri Miller, Secretary
