<br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />Michelle McPherson <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />Terry Zajac ~ <br /> <br />DATE: June 23, 2003 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Talbot Lumber Building <br /> <br />On June ncd, 2003 fire chief Bmce \v' est, fire inspector Cliff Anderson, and senior building <br />inspector Terry Zajac met to discuss the building that Talbot Lumber would like LO move <br />into, In lieu of no fire department access to the north, south, and west sides of the building <br />the fire department will be requiring the following: <br /> <br />1, The exterior walls need to be 1-hoUI rated, <br />The roof and the walls on the existing loading dock must be removed and remain <br />open. <br />3, The loading dock must be extended to the southwest end of the building, <br />4, A I-hour fire barrier wall will be required to compartmentize a min.imum of 30% of <br />the S-1 portion of the building, <br /> <br />') <br /> <br />The following building code issues will also be required: <br />1, Three-hour fire barrier walls will be required between the different occupancy's. <br />2. Proper exiting will be required from each occupancy, <br />3, Other items such as plumbing, mechanical, gas, etc. will need LO be addressed. <br /> <br /> <br />AJl of these items are based on the east side of this building maintaining at least 20 clear feet <br />of fire lane access.
