Mr. Dave Schwarting
January 15, 1997
Page Three

We talked about as areas adjacent to County Road 12 develop, it may be
reasonable to expect the Developer to build the appropriate turn lane and/
or bypass lane for entrance into his land. We also discussed that the 40-
foot road would be relatively easy to widen to four lanes sometime far in
the future when the whole area is developed.

You indicated that Anoka County would prefer that your project on
County Road 12 be pushed into calendar year 1998. I indicated that this
may be acceptable to the City because it would give the City more time to
coordinate their development and utility needs with your project.
Currently, it is my understanding that with fiscal year 1997 funding for the
County Road 12 upgrade, you would have to have a project bid by the end
of June.

These are the major topics that I believe the City Council will want to discuss with the
County Board when their joint meeting is held. Hopefully, our discussing these items
ahead of time will help the two elected bodies with their discussions.

Thanks again for the time.

Sincerely,

MSA, CONSULTING ENGINEERS

TIM:tw

cc: Pat Klaers, City Administrator

230/213-1502.jan
