[NORTHSTAR COMMUTER RAIL STUDY.] <br /> The commissioner of transportation, in conjunction with the <br />Northstar Corridor Development Authority, shall convene a work <br />group to further study the feasibility of constructing the <br />Northstar commuter rail. The work group shall update ridership <br />forecasts for the commuter rail based on 2000 census data and <br /> <br />seek updated information from the Burlington Northern Santa Fe <br /> <br />77.12 <br />77.13 <br />77.14 <br />77.15 <br />77.16 <br />77.17 <br /> <br />railroad regarding capacity improvements, railroad usage rights, <br />construction, risk and liability allocation, and other related <br />issues. By January 15, 2004, the commissioner shall report the <br />work group's findings to the chairs and ranking members of the <br />legislative committees having jurisdiction over transportation <br />and capital investment.
