No. 956 as follows: <br /> <br />Page 20, delete lines 19 to 36 and insert: <br /> <br />4 "Subd. 8. North Star Commuter Rail <br /> <br />To acquire real property and lease <br />right-of-way for, and to plan, design, <br />engineer, construct, and equip a <br />commuter rail line between the city cf <br />Rice and downtown Minneapolis. <br /> <br />47,700,000 <br /> <br />10 No more than $20,000,000 of this <br />11 appropriation may be spent before the <br />12 commissioner of transportation has <br />13 executed a full-funding grant agreement <br />14 with the Federal Transportation <br />15 Administration that provides for <br />16 constructing and equipping the line. <br /> <br />17 The legislature anticipates that the <br />18 federal government will contribute at <br />19 least $151,000,000 for the line, and <br />20 that the 2004 legislature will <br />21 appropriate approximately $75,500,000 <br />22 as the final state contribution to <br />23 constructing and equipping the line. <br /> <br />24 This appropriation must be spent for <br />25 purposes as set forth in the Minnesota <br />26 Constitution, article XI, section 5, <br />27 clause (a), to acquire and better <br />28 public lands and buildings and other <br />29 public improvements of a capital <br />30 nature, and for purposes as set forth <br />31 in the Minnesota Constitution, article <br />32 XI, section 5, clause (i), to improve <br />33 and rehabilitate railroad rights-cf-way <br />34 and other rail facilities, whether <br />35 public or private." <br /> <br />Correct the section total, the appropriation summary, and <br /> <br />37 the bond sale authorization <br /> <br /> <br />
