THE MOTION
CARRIED 5-0.

4. Joint Meeting with Sherbume County Board of Commissioners

A. County Road 33 and Highway 169 Interchange

City Engineer Terry Maurer provided an update on the progress of the project. He
noted that this was a MnDOT project and was scheduled for completion by
November.

B. County Road 33/77

County Engineer Dave Schwarting provided an update on the realignment of
County Roads 32 and 77. He noted that this project is contingent on the future
connection to County Road 32. He indicated that the County is requesting the City
to make a commitment to this connection. Mr. Schwarting stated that the road
connection is a long-term plan which the County is interested in seeing completed.
If this connection is not going to happen then a slightly different County Road
33/77 realignment would be better for county traffic flow.

Mayor I~inzing indicated that the connection to County Road 32 was not in the
City's transportation plan and the Park and Recreation Commission did not
promote the connection.

Stephen Rohlf indicated that the City should keep an open mind for a possible
future connection. Councilmember Motin indicated that he would like to see what
the impact would be if the road was extended through the park.

It was the consensus of the Council to revisit the issue regarding this issue at a later
date.

Councilmember Dietz stated that Elk River Utilities was going to do some work in
the area but were not informed about the realignment project. Discussion was held regarding the "S" curve on County
