:ty of <br /> <br />River <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Mayor & City Council <br />Pat Klaers, City ~trator <br /> <br />January 8, 1996 <br /> <br />Meeting Schedule <br /> <br />ITEM 6.8. <br /> <br />We need to begin looking at our winter/spring meeting schedule in order to <br />plan for public hearings and special meetings. Everyone should bring their <br />calendar to this Council meeting so that we can avoid setting up meetings <br />where Councilmembers cannot be present. Attached for your review is a copy <br />of the January through April calendar. <br /> <br />The City Council has already scheduled the January and February holiday <br />CIP worksessions, although we would like to firm up the starting time of <br />these meetings. The Council has also already established the Volunteer <br />Appreciation Dinner date for Tuesday, February 13, 1996. <br /> <br />One meeting that can be discussed on the January 15 CIP meeting is the <br />informational meeting for the Riverview Heights area to discuss public <br />improvements including municipal utilities and the reconstruction of streets. <br /> <br />Another date that can be discussed at the January 15 CIP meeting is the <br />public informational meeting on an East Highway 10 public improvement <br />(trunk sewer and water and storm sewer) project. <br /> <br />A very important date that needs to be considered is the public hearing date <br />to consider the Master Park and Recreation Plan and the Long Range <br />Transportation Plan. This date had been tentatively set for February 26, <br />1996, however, the Mayor is not available on that date. Additionally, the city <br />engineer, who must be at that meeting, is not available the week of March 4. <br />The Planning Commission is scheduled to have its public hearing on these <br />two issues in mid-February. We may want to consider a special meeting for <br />Wednesday, February 28 for this public hearing. <br /> <br />Joint Council meetings typically take place in the winter and spring with the <br />School Board, County Board, Park and Recreation Commission, Planning <br />Commission and Utilities Commission. I would like suggested dates from the <br />Council to begin scheduling these joint meetings. <br /> <br />13065 Orono Parkway · P.O.
