chi®n ~u~se
Engage SRF Consulting Group to complete Senate appropriation foams for federal transportation
funding at a cost of approximately $2,800.50.
ack r~undl iscussi~n
In February 20D~, the City Council authorized SRF Consulting Group to work with the city to complete
the transportation funding forms required to be submitted to Senators I~lobuchar and Franken and
Representative Bachmann. The funding request eras for the Highway 10 and Highway 1G9 projects,
beginning with the initial phase of relocating the railroad tracks. The original request in 2009 was for
~2,400,OOD to be matched by ~G00,o00 in local funds to complete final design of the railroad realignment.
As you know, we were not successful in that request.
I received notice from Senator I~lobuchar's office indicating that fiscal year 2011 appropriations forms
are due to her no later than Friday, February 19. Forms are due to Senator Franken by March 5. Brian
Shorten from SRF Consulting Group did the majority of the work to complete the farms and prepare for
city submittal of these forms last year. I am requesting that the Council again authorize staff to work with
SRF Consulting Group to complete all of the necessary federal funding forms for fiscal year 2011. The
cost to have SRF complete f~li.ng of the applications will be approximately X2,800.50.
Financial Impact
$2,800.50 from the Street Improvement Reserve fund.
tac h r~ ~ ns
SRF Consulting Group proposal
S:~Council`Lori~2Q~4~SRF Consulting.doc
