The City of Elk River, Energy City Commission held the 2008 Energy Expo at the City <br />Hall Campus and had approximately 800 people in attendance. The third Energy Expo will be held on <br />Apri118, 2009 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Twin Lakes Elementary School once again. The following items <br />will be a part of the day's program: <br />• Keynote speaker, Joe Shuster, author of Beyond Fo.r~il Fools:• The Boadmap to Energy Independence by <br />2b40 will speak following the Mayor's Welcome Address <br />• Energy Innovations Contest displays by Spectrum High School students and award presentation <br />• Presentation of Energy Enny's short film contest finalists by Spectrum High School students and <br />award presentation <br />• Exhibitors regarding sustainable and renewable energy technologies, including hybrid vehicles <br />• "Project Conserve" participants' experiences <br />• Guided bus tours of Energy Ciry demonstration sites at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. (lasting approximately <br />1.5 - 2 hours) <br />• Performances by Tricia and the Toonies at 11:00 a.m. and CLIMB Theatre at 1:00 p.m. <br />• Display of Coloring Contest Finalists and presentation of first place winners <br />• Catering by the Elk River Lion's Club <br />• Grand prize drawings for (3) $500 gift certificates toward Energy Star Appliances at the close of <br />the day <br />Financial Impact <br />To provide this event to the public free of charge, sponsors have been solicited.
