**ITEM 5.2.** <br />of <br />MEMORANDUM <br />River <br />TO: Mayor and City Council <br />FROM: Sandra Tbackeray, City Clerk <br />DATE: April 3,1995 <br />SUBJECT: Request for Charitable Gambling Funds from <br />the American Legion <br />Ed Norrell, Representative of the American Legion has informed me that many of the <br />flag poles along Highway 10 in the City of Elk River are in need of repair. He indicated <br />that the American Legion has offered to repair the flag poles with chazitable gambling <br />proceeds. <br />The American Legion has requested that the City Council request the chazitable gambling <br />funds so the repair of the flag poles will be an appropriate expenditure according to the <br />State of Minnesota. Mr. Norrell has informed me that the cost to repair the flags will be <br />• approximately $1,000. <br />Action Requested: Motion from the City Council requesting approximately $1,000 from <br />the American Legion chazitable gambling funds to be used for the repair of flag poles in <br />the City of Elk River. . <br />s:council/flagpole <br />• <br />13065 Orono Parkway • P.O.
