Item # 5.4.

City

MEMORANDUM

TO:

FROM:

DATE:

SUBJECT:

Mayor and City Council

Michele McPherso~irector of Planning

February II, 2002

Consider Land Exchange with D.R. Horton

Attachments

· Map Indicating Parcels to be Exchanged
· Map of George DeSchene property

Background

A condition of the plat of Trott Brook South required the applicant, D.R. Horton to
purchase Outlots A and B of Elk River Crossing from the City. Staff met with
representatives of D.R. Horton to discuss this acquisition and instead proposed a land
exchange. Outlots A and B, Elk River Crossing, and the remnant from the George
DeSchene acquisition not used by Well #7 and the Water Treatment Plant, would be
exchanged for Outlot K of Trott Brook Farms 1~ Addition. Outlot K was discussed earlier
in the development of the Trott Brook Farms project. The Park and Recreation
Commission indicated at that time that it would be desirable for parkland. The Park and
Recreation Commission will review this proposal at their February 13th meeting.

Please let staff know of any Council concerns regarding this proposal.

S:\PLANNING\MICHMC\CCREPRTS\DESCHENE.DOC
