<br /> <br />City of Elk River <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date <br />Worksession Februa 5,2007 <br />Item Description <br />Board and Commission U date and Discussion <br /> <br />Item Number <br />6.3. <br /> <br />Prepared by <br />Tina Allard, Ci Clerk <br />Reviewed by <br /> <br />Introduction <br />As the Council is aware, tonight's Board and Commission item was supposed to involve an interview <br />process in order to fill open seats for terms that are expiring February 28,2007. <br /> <br />Discussion <br />The decision has been made to postpone the interviews due to the lack of applications received to fill the <br />open seats. Staff has advertised on the city's web site, on cable TV, and in the Star News. <br /> <br />Following are excerpts from our City Code regarding information if the terms are not filled by the end of <br />February. <br /> <br />Heritage Preservation Commission <br /> <br />The last day for the term of office for each member shall be the last <br />day of February; however, all members may continue service until either <br />reappointed or replaced by the city council. <br /> <br />Park & Recreation Commission. Ice Arena Commission.
