______________________________________________________________________________ <br /> <br />Page 1 of 1 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br /> <br />TO: <br />ERMU Commission <br />FROM: <br />Sara Youngs – Administrations Director <br />MEETING DATE: <br />May 13, 2025 <br />AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />6.1b <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br /> <br />DISCUSSION: <br />• Office walk-in traffic for April consisted of 122 customers, averaging 22 customers per <br />week over the four-week period. <br />• ERMU disconnections for April: The Cold Weather Rule was in effect, meaning <br />customers could not be disconnected until 30 days after they receive their <br />disconnection notice. <br />o Cycle 4 – 5 disconnections <br />o Cycle 1 – 13 disconnections <br />o Cycle 2 – 7 disconnections <br />o Cycle 3 – 10 disconnections <br />o Cycle 4 – 7 disconnections <br />• The Cold Weather Rule ended on April 30, 2025. Customers will receive one past due <br />reminder and an automated phone call that they are subject to disconnection for <br />nonpayment. Once a customer is disconnected, they must pay their full past due <br />balance for services to be restored. <br />• During the month of April 2025, the customer service team entered 72 payment <br />arrangements with customers. During April 2024 there were 40 payment arrangements. <br />• A substantial portion of staff time is currently devoted to the Advanced Metering <br />Infrastructure (AMI) project, with customer service representatives actively making <br />outbound calls to arrange water meter replacements. <br />• Currently there are ten active residential solar photovoltaic projects planned or under <br />construction in the ERMU service territory. <br />• In the last 30 days combined, the level two chargers located downtown and in the <br />parking lot in front of ERMU had 25 sessions and provided customers with 353 kWh of <br />green energy. <br />• The administrations director, IT staff, and finance manager participated in a three-day <br />training session focused on security permissions, conducted by the National Information <br />Solutions Cooperative. <br />105
