UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING <br />TO:FROM: <br />ERMU Commission Sara Youngs –Administrations Director <br />MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER: <br />March 11, 2025 6.1b <br />SUBJECT: <br />Staff Update <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br />None <br />DISCUSSION: <br /> Office walk-in traffic for February consisted of 124 customers, averaging 31 customers <br />per week over the four-week period. <br /> ERMU disconnections for February: The Cold Weather Rule is in effect, meaning <br />customers cannot be disconnected until 30 days after they receive their disconnection <br />notice. <br />o Cycle 1 – No disconnections due to cold weather. <br />o Cycle 2 – No disconnections due to cold weather. <br />o Cycle 3 – No disconnections due to cold weather. <br />o Cycle 4 – 9 disconnections. <br /> During the month of February 2025, the customer service team entered43payment <br />arrangements with customers. During February2024 there were 38 payment <br />arrangements. <br /> A significant amount of staff time is dedicated to the Advanced Metering Infrastructure <br />project, including daily follow-ups with customers and coordination with both internal <br />and external teams. Ongoing communication efforts aim to ensure water customers <br />schedule their meter replacements by April 1, 2025, to avoid additional service fees. <br /> Staff completed a street and security light audit for residential and commercial <br />customers in Otsego, Dayton, and Elk River. Phase two, focusing on city-billed lights, will <br />begin in fall 2025. <br /> An audit of customer accounts in Otsego was completed to verify accurate billing of <br />franchise fees. <br /> The annual Minnesota Public Utilities Commission report, Distributed Energy Resource <br />Docket 25-10, has been submitted. <br /> IT staff continue collaborating with Marco on security initiatives for 2025. <br /> Currently there are eight active residential solar photovoltaic projects planned or under <br />construction in the ERMU service territory. <br /> In the last 30 days, combined the level two charger located downtown and in the <br />parking lot in front of ERMU had 28sessions and provided customers with408 kWh of <br />green energy. <br />______________________________________________________________________________ <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />138 <br /> <br />
