<br />ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING <br />MAY 29, 1973 <br /> <br />The Board of Review was called to order by the chairman EL Specht. All members were present. <br />Dale Palmer first spoke to the group present. He explained Senior Citizens tax form. He said <br />legislature limited assessor to 5% increase in assessment. Dale stated that the taxes were increased <br />more than 5% so they will have to be lowered for 1974 tax. Robert Mitchell was first to appear for a <br />complaint. After and explanation low taxes are figured he was satisfied. Next Thomas Hipsag <br />appeared. He asked how valuation was increased. After the new low his assessment will drop to <br />where he is satisfied. Douglas Mathesen was next to appear. He asked if all are receiving the same <br />amount of raise. He was told that his would drop the same as all others. Lucille Schulke next <br />appeared. She was to qualify for the Green Acres. This will lower her tax. Mrs. Howard Kastendick <br />also failed to sign for Green Acres. Next was Merle Kratzke he was told his valuation in 1972 raised <br />due to upgrading.
