<br />ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING <br />APRIL 25, 1972 <br /> <br />th <br />A special meeting was held on Tues April 25 at 8:00 P.M. for a discussion if the possibility of <br />establishing a sewer district on the perimeter of the Village of Elk River. The meeting was called to <br />order by the chairman Franklin Madsen. Helmer Bartelt spoke on behalf of the Village of Elk River. <br />He stated that the Elk River Disposal Plant is not doing the job also the sewer system is near <br />capacity at present. The question arose as to how much the sewer plant should be expanded to take <br />care of new demands. Hilman stated that there is a good chance of getting Federal and State <br />assistance. Wm. Mills the Village Engineer gave more technical information on the subject. Frank <br />Madsen asked for a vote on a sewer district. Those in the Archie Larson dist 21 voted in favor and 6 <br />opposed. Those being west of 169 over to Industrial Park only 1 in favor 11 against. East of 169 and <br />east of the village non in favor and 10 were opposed. Those south of Highway 10 west of Elk River <br />non were in favor and 12 against.
