ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING MARCH 8, 1966 The annual town meeting was held at the court house. The polls were opened at 10 o’clock as set in the previous years meeting. Oscar Engstrom was appointed Moderator. L.R. Moldenhauer gave the treasurers report spent 8,408.66 on 12,109.41 R&B 3,339.35 poor. Present balance 5,080.90 Rev 919 R&B Poor 921.60 Overdrawn in poor. The treasurers report was read and approved. It was moved by L. Specht that 2,000 be transferred to poor fund seconded by Mel Peterson. Motion carried. A motion was made by Everett Specht that $5,000 be raised for Revenue Fund. A motion was made by Erwin Specht that 12,000 be raised for Road and Bridge. Motion carried. A motion was made by Michael Peterson that 4000 be raised for poor fund, seconded by E. Specht. Motion carried. A motion was made that the gopher bounty be discontinued. Motion was carried. The matter of hours for next year came up. The motion was made that the meeting be held at 1:30 p.m. Motion carried. Polls open at 10 o’clock and close at 4 p.m. as there was no other business a motion was made that the meeting be adjourned. Motion was carried. E.V. Rathbun Clerk The following ballots were cast.
