<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER SPECIAL MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 7, 1912 <br /> <br />A special meeting of the Village Council was held at the office of Geo. E. Page, President on <br />Saturday evening September 7, 1912. <br /> <br />Geo. E. Page, President, E.P. Babcock and B.F. Plummer, George Worden Trustees and W.F. <br />Chadbourne, Clerk. Visitors; F.W. Nickerson, H.W. Iblings, and Fred {illegible} <br /> <br />This meeting was called for the purpose of receiving bids for the construction of abutment at bridge <br />over Elk River as advertised in Star News September 5, 1912.. <br /> <br />The following bids were received: <br /> Iblings Bridge Co. with certified check $200and {illegible} to give Bond according to law for <br />the {illegible} of $2,100 <br /> Fred Tourtellotte made two propositions, first the {illegible} $1,950 for {illegible} job. <br />Second for the sum of $1,200 for labor the village furnishing all material {illegible} proposition <br />accompanying with certified check or agreement to give bonds. <br /> <br />On motion of B.J. Plummer seconded by Geo. Worden, the first proposition of Fred Tourtillotte <br />was accepted {illegible} $1,950 complete. Roll ordered called , Plummer aye, Worden aye, Babcock <br />No, Chadbourne no, Page yes. Ayes 3 – Noes 2. The president declared motion carried. E.P. <br />Babcock asked permission to put a gasoline tank on sidewalk on motion granted. <br /> <br />No further business, adjourned. <br /> <br />W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk <br />
