<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />April 6, 1911 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />A meeting of the Common Council was held April 6, 1911 in the office of Geo. E. Page. <br /> <br />Present: Plummer, President, Page, Babcock and Worden, Trustees and Chadbourne, Village Recorder. <br />Meeting was called to order by Geo. E. Page, President at 8:30 p.m. Minutes of the last meeting were <br />read and approved. <br /> <br />The first order of business was disposing of the application of W.H. Thorpe for license to sell liquor in <br />pool room situated on Lot (6) Block (11) Village of Elk River. <br /> <br />Motion of W.F. Chadbourne, seconded by Babcock that we grant said Thorpe his request, motion <br />carried unanimously. Licensed to sell liquor by W.H. Thorpe, carried. <br /> <br />E.L. Ward being present asked for license to run three billiard and pool tables in rooms under the <br />I.O.O.F. Hall subject to Ordinance No. 55. On motion his application was granted, and clerk ordered <br />to make out license. (E.L. Ward license 3 pool tables) <br /> <br />Oliver Mausers, ?nauce? appearing on “Posted List” furnished Geo. H. Blanchett and on the request of <br />his people and ?self was taken off sauce by unanimous consent by Council. <br /> <br />This being the first meeting of the new council the question of salary of clerk was taken up on motion <br />is voted that the clerk secure $35.00 per year. (clerk salary $35 per yr) <br /> <br />On motion of Babcock, seconded by Worden that Frank T. White be employed as council for the <br />Village for the present year, motion carried, compensation $50.00. <br /> <br />On motion it was decided to have regular meeting on the first Saturday of each month at 8:00 p.m. at <br />the office of Geo. E. Page. <br /> <br />The following bill were presented and allowed motion allowed clerk ordered to draw o order for same <br />on treas. <br /> Geo. E. Page – M.D. for fumigating on 5 cases of Scarlett fever - $25.00 <br /> <br />No other business to come before the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />W.F.
