<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 15, 1923 <br /> <br />Special meeting of the Village Council was held at the Library room on Friday, June 15, 1923. <br /> <br />Present – Geo Cornelius and B.E. Fournier, Trustees and W.F. Chadbourne, Clerk <br /> <br />Meeting called to order at 7:30 p.m. on motion B.E. Fournier was elected temporary chairman. <br /> <br />The principal business to come before this meeting was to elect or appoint a President of the <br />Council to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of C.A. Morse. <br /> <br />On motion duly seconded and declared carried Charles E. Brown was appointed to fill the vacancy <br />until the next election. Clerk instructed to notify said C.E. Brown of his appointment. <br /> <br />On application was presented to the OCuncil by the Trustees of the St. Andrews Church Society for <br />a permtit to hold dances. <br /> <br />The said application having complied with the new law in such cases provided on motion their <br />request was granted and clerk authorized to issue permit. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed. <br /> <br />Middlestadt Bros labor and national meters 21.50 <br />Star News printing 4.00 <br />Miller-Davis Co blanks for permits 1.26 <br />E.
