<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER MEETING CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 26, 1920 <br /> <br />Minutes of meeting of the Village Council of Elk River Minn held Thursday the 26 day of Feb 1920 <br />in the Office of the Mayor of Elk River J.H. Virgin, President, Bert Carr, and Gaye Shannon, acting <br />clerk. Gaye Shannon was upon motion empowered to sign Village warrants as acting clerk pending <br />Wm Noval’s recovery from illness. <br /> <br />On motion the following resolution was adopted. <br /> <br />Be it resolved by the Village Council that the petition of the Northern Pacific Ry Co to close the <br />Railway Crossing near the eastern end of the Village limits knowns as the Chadbourne Crossing be <br />denied on the ground that it is opposed to public policy to close said crossing. <br /> <br />The secretary (or clerk) was instructed to forward a copy of this resolution to the Railroad company <br />in question. <br /> <br />On motion the following bills were allowed and orders drawn for their payment. <br /> <br />1858 Sherburne Co star news printing $2.75 <br />1859 J.T.
