<br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 89- 3 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR <br />AN ELECTION TO DETERMINE WHETHER TO <br />ISSUE BONDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF FINANCING <br />THE PURCHASE OF FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Elk River, <br />Minnesota, as follows: <br /> <br />1. This council finds and determines that it would be in <br />the best interests of the City to issue and sell its <br />general obligation bonds for the purpose of providing <br />funds to finance the purchase of an aerial ladder <br />platform fire truck and related equipment. <br /> <br />2. The amount proposed to be borrowed through the issuance <br />and sale of such bonds shall not exceed $475,000. <br /> <br />3. Pursuant to the requirements of applicable law, the <br />proposal to issue such bonds shall be submitted to the <br />voters of the City at a special election to be held <br />February 14, 1989. The polling place will be held at <br />the Fire Station located at 415 Jackson Avenue. The <br />election judges are certified election judges. The <br />Polls shall be open at 7:00 a.m. and shall close at 8:00 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />4. The city clerk shall cause notice of the election as <br />required by law to be published for two weeks in the <br />official newspaper of the City and shall post the notice <br />in three public places in the City at least ten days <br />prior to the election. The notice shall be <br />substantially in the form of the notice marked Exhibit <br />A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. <br />A copy of the notice shall be posted in the clerk's <br />office for public inspection. <br /> <br />5. The clerk shall cause ballots to be printed in <br />substantially the form of the ballot marked Exhibit B, <br />attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference. <br />At least one week before the election, the city clerk <br />shall publish a sample ballot in the official newspaper <br />of the City. At least four days before the election, <br />the clerk shall post a sample ballot in the clerk's <br />office for public inspection. The clerk shall post a <br />sample ballot in each polling place on election day. <br />
