<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />October 5, 1942 <br /> <br />The regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Elk River was held in the Municipal <br />building at 8:00 P.M. with the following members present: <br /> <br />M.C. Teach, Mayor, A.F. Roehlke, Clerk, E.L. Shadick, G.A. Bailey and Frank Nickerson, trustees. <br /> <br />The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. <br /> <br />Motion was made by E.L. Shadick, seconded by Frank Nickerson and passed, asking the clerk to <br />write a letter to Northern States Power Co. in the matter of taking over Elk River Power plant and <br />the Village grant them a franchise for power and light. <br /> <br />The following bills were approved and ordered paid. <br /> <br />Harold R. Caley, Inc. – Map for liquor store - $.98 <br />D.P. Christian – 78hrs @ $.40 per hour - $31.20 <br />Shelly Oil Co. – Fuel for liquor store - $5.33 <br />Booth Freight Line – Freight on liquor shipment - $22.98 <br />Bloomer Brewery, Inc. – Liquor - $15.00 <br />Frank McCormick – Liquor - $220.18 <br />Briggs Cooper Co. – Liquor - $156.42 <br />John Malmstrom – Labor on brush - $3.50 <br />Donald Vassar – Cleaning streets - $2.50 <br />Lee Slaback – Reading water meters - $4.00 <br />Rupert Zimmer - ???
