<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />July 20, 1942 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held in the Municipal building on July 20, 1942 <br />All members were present. <br />The council decided to get an attorney general ruling on whether or not the R.E.A. could accept a <br />franchise to furnish electrical energy to the Village of Elk River and what rights the Village would <br />under such a franchise. <br />A motion was made by E.L.Shadick and second by G.A.Bailey to install and inch and one half water <br />pipe from the water main to the Court house. <br />A motion was made by G.A.Bailey and seconded by Cliint Walker to issue Jiles Casey a $10.00 food <br />stamp book. <br />A motion was made by E.L.Shadick and seconded by G.A. Bailey allowing the following bills: <br />Famous Brandes Inc. – Liquor $73.58 <br />Distiller Distributing Corp. – Liquor $201.28 <br />Geo Benz Sons Inc. – Liquor $86.10 <br />Griggs Cooper & Co. – Liquor $129.85 <br />Frank McCormick Inc. – Liquor $93.24 <br />NowThen Ball Club – Advertising $5.00 <br /> <br />Meeting adjourned. <br /> <br />J.Clinton Walker G.A.Bailey <br />Clerk Acting President <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
