VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING December 3, 1956 The regular meeting of the Elk River Village Council was called to order by Mayor Schwartz on December 3, 1956 with all members present. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Dow to transfer $3500.00 from the General Fund to the Road and Bridge Fund. Carried. A communication was received from the Village Library Board recommending a raise of $17.50 per month for librarian Mrs. Page. Mrs. Page to work on half day more each week. The Council agreed to the proposal. A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Meyer to appoint Mrs. Ray Erdal to the Library Board. Carried. Upon motion by Meyer and second by Dow the Council approved an amendment to the Contract with Engineer Fridlund to read new building instead of remodel and a fee of 6% instead of 8%. Lights 24.86 Elk River Utilities – street lights 100.00 Elk River Utilities – fuel and supplies 40.10 Dale Kramer – janitor 10.00 Carole Dwyer – asst 4.50 Zella M Page – books 41.73 N.W. Bell Tele Co – phone 8.58 N.W. Bell Tele Co – phone 13.25 George Moos – police 101.80 Zella M Page – salary 76.80 Floyd Strassberg – labor 5.00 Hyd. Jack and Equip Co – pump 15.17 August Meyer – election board 10.00 Which have been on trial at the liquor store. He did not recommend putting them in at present.
