<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />May 5, 1952 <br /> <br />A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on May 5, 1952. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> E.A. Parent, Mayor; Harry Dow, Dan Bailey, R.A. Ryding, Trustees; H.A. Briggs, <br />Clerk <br /> <br />The meeting was called to order by Mayor Parent. The minutes of the last meeting were read and <br />approved. <br /> <br />August Meyers was present and asked to have a curb laid out at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church. <br />The Council agreed to have the curb surveyed. <br /> <br />Edmund Belanger asked that a curb be built along his and Ed Belanger’s property. The Council <br />agreed to put in the curb if a majority of the property owners agree. <br /> <br />A site for a village dump was selected. A motion by Bailey and second by Dow to purchase the west <br />½ of N.E. ¼ of sec. 2-132-26. Motion carried. <br /> <br />A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Ryding to appropriate $25.00 to Sherburne County <br />for weed control. Motion carried. <br /> <br />It was reported that Mrs. Selhauer needs her roof repaired and that her old age assistance would not <br />cover the cost. A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Dow to appropriate the cost of <br />repairing the roof. Carried. <br /> <br />Lester Derr reported that black topping was necessary on Lincoln St. between Sixth and Seventh <br />Streets. <br /> <br />Nothing further was done at this meeting. <br /> <br />The following bills were allowed and ordered paid: <br />August Leider – street work 73.10 <br />Miller-Davis Co – clerk blanks 1.42 <br />Farm Bureau – gas and oil 4.50 <br />Banke Electric – service call 1.50 <br />Central Lmbr Co – putty .75 <br />Fire Department – fires 265.50 <br />Star News – notices 9.90 <br />Dares – fuses 1.20 <br />Marshall Wells - .85 <br />Skelly Oil Co – fuel 30.17 <br />Davis Food Mkt – groc Aug Leider 41.37 <br />N.W. Bell Tele Co – April 11.15 <br />Wm Roggatz – gas and oil 25.68 <br /> <br />
