<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />February 19, 1949 <br /> <br />A special meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Feb 19, 1949. <br /> <br />Members present: <br /> Oscar Odegard, Mayor; Emil Parent, Dan Bailey, R.A. Ellingson, Trustees; H.A. <br />Briggs <br /> <br />Also present were Village Attorney, Howard Wakefield, Elmer Leger, and V.B. Skellenger. The <br />purpose of the meeting was to consider an offer of settlement by Barbarossa and Sons attorney in <br />the sewer case. After considerable discussion and upon advice of the village attorney, Howard <br />Wakefield, a motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Ellingson to settle the case out of court <br />for an amount not to exceed $2000.00. The motion carried. All members voting in favor. <br /> <br />V.B. Skellenger brought up the matter of the issue of additional renewal certificates for the Power <br />and Light Commission. It is planned to issue additional revenue certificates amounting to $70,000.00 <br />and to pay off certificates already issued amounting to $25,000.00. <br /> <br />Upon motion by Ellingson and second by Bailey the council authorized the issuance of these <br />certificates.
