<br />e <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 94-93 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF A GRANT <br />APPLICATION FOR THE SAFE AND SOBER <br />NATIONAL TRAFFIC SAFETY CAMPAIGN <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Elk River Police Department; Sherburne County <br />Sheriffs Office, Big Lake Police Department and the Becker <br />Police Department have jointly made application to the <br />Minnesota Department of Public Safety to receive and <br />expend "Safe and Sober" grant funds. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, "Safe and Sober" is a national traffic safety campaign <br />designed by the NHTSA and endorsed by the International <br />Association of Chiefs of Police and the National Sheriffs <br />Association; and <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the "Safe & Sober" program seeks to unite national, state, <br />and local efforts to reduce alcohol-related crashes and <br />increase safety belt and child safety seat use with quarterly <br />programs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Elk River Police Department, in conjunction with the <br />Sherburne County Sheriffs Department, Big Lake Police <br />Department, and the Becker Police Department, have made <br />a commitment to see that the Safe and Sober program is <br />successful. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Elk River City Council <br />supports the efforts of the local law enforcement agencies in <br />their efforts to apply for grant funds which will assist in the <br />implementation of the "Safe and Sober" program. <br /> <br />Passed and adopted by the Elk River City Council this 12th day of <br />September, 1994. <br /> <br /> <br />e <br /> <br /> <br />Sandra A.
