<br /> <br />Item # 3.6. <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />TO: Mayor and Council <br /> <br />FROM: Bill Maertz, Director of Parks and Recreation <br /> <br />DATE: May 16, 2005 <br /> <br />SUBJECT: Authorization to Hire Maintenance I <br /> <br />Item <br />The 2005 Budget includes funding for an additional Maintenance I worker for the Parks <br />and Recreation Department. There are currently three full-time park maintenance workers <br />to maintain 41 parks, 30 miles of trails and City Hall and Utility facilities grounds. The <br />position was posted in March, and 106 applications were received. <br /> <br />Summary <br />Human resources staff scored applications and the top ten scoring candidates were <br />interviewed. The interview panel selected Rodney Schreifels as the top candidate. Mr. <br />Schriefels was employed by the City of Lakeville, Parks and Recreation Department as a <br />maintenance worker. <br /> <br />Action Requested <br />Authorize hire of Rodney Schriefels as Maintenance I, pay grade 8, level C ($17.63 per <br />hour) <br />
