Meeting called to order at 7:30 P.M. by Mayor Madsen. <br /> <br />2. Oath of Office <br /> <br />The City Clerk issued to the Mayor and Councilmembers Toth and Engstrom <br />their respective Certificates of Election and Mayor Madsen, Councilman <br />Toth and Engstrom signed their respective Oaths of Office. <br /> <br />3. Agenda <br /> <br />Councilmember otto asked that item #19 be added to the agenda, that being <br />consideration of the former Liquor Store Manager. COUNCILMAN OTTO MOVED <br />APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA AS AMENDED. COUNCILMAN DUITSMAN SECONDED THE <br />MOTION. MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />4. Minutes <br /> <br />COUNCILMAN DUITSMAN MOVED APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 18, 1978 <br />CITY COUNCIL tUNUTES. COUNCILMAN OTTO SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION PASSED <br />3-0. <br /> <br />5. Open Mike <br /> <br />No one appeared for this item. <br /> <br />6. Designation of Acting Mayor <br /> <br />Councilmembers Toth and Otto both expressed interest in serving as Acting <br />Mayor on the City Council. It was the consensus of the City Council to <br />postpone formal action on this item until the January 22, 1979 meeting of <br />the City Council. <br /> <br />7. Designation of Official Newspaper <br /> <br />COUNCILMAN ENGSTROM MOVED THAT THE SHERBURNE COUNTY STAR NEWS BE DESIGNATED <br />AS THE CITY'S OFFICIAL NEWSPAPER. COUNCILMAN OTTO SECONDED THE MOTION. <br />MOTION PASSED 4-0. <br /> <br />8. Designation of Official Depository for the City Funds <br /> <br />COUNCILMAN DUITSMAN MOVED THAT THE BANK OF ELK RIVER, THE FIRST NATIONAL <br />BANK OF ELK RIVER 'AND SECURITY FEDERAL SAVINGS AND LOAN BE DESIGNATED AS <br />DEPOSITORIES FOR CITY FUNDS. COUNCILMAN OTTO SECONDED THE MOTION. MOTION <br />PASSED 4-0. <br />
