<br />o <br /> <br />REGULAR SEMI-MONTHLY MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF ELK RIVER <br />HELD IN THE COUNCIL CHAMBERS OF THE CITY OFFICE BLDG. <br /> <br />March 6, 1978 at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Members present: Mayor Madsen, Councilmembers Engstrom, otto, Duitsman and <br />Toth. <br /> <br />The minutes of the February 21, 1978 meeting were reviewed as their were no <br />additions or corrections the minutes were approved as printed. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember otto and seconded by Councilmember Duitsman to hire the <br />firm of Mateffy Engineering & Associated; Inc. as recommended by the Planning <br />Commission for the Cities planning on an hourly rate bases. Motion unanimously <br />carried by a vote of 5-0. <br /> <br />Chief of Police Joe Zerwas and John Kuester PSE Coordinator for State of Min- <br />nesota Comprehensive EmplOYment Training Center met with the Council regard- <br />ing the CETA program its functions, payment schedule, contracts and employ- <br />ment requirements. Mayor Madsen asked the Health & Safety Committee to <br />follow up on this matter. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Duitsman and seconded by Councilmember Engstrom <br />approving the transfer of $3,261.21 and close out the account at the First <br />National Bank and deposit it in the Bank of Elk River general account. Motion <br />unanimously carried by a vote of 5-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Engstrom and seconded by Councilmember Toth appointing <br />Councilmember otto to Community Education Advisory Committee motion unanimously <br />carried by a vote of 5-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Toth and seconded by Councilmember Duitsman approving <br />the payment ~equest of Acton Construction Co; Inc. No.8 in the amount of <br />$171,521.28 subject to receipt of State and Federal reimbursement funds. <br />Motion unanimously carried by a vote of 5-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Duitsman and seconded by Councilmember Toth that all <br />department heads or responsible persons document all data relevant to private <br />or city owned properties in which a liability could or may occur, then or at <br />a later date. Motion unanimously carried by a vote of 5-0. <br /> <br />Moved by Councilmember Duitsman seconded by Councilmember Engstrom extending <br />the term of office of the members of the Utility Cormnission for an additional <br />30 days.
