Item 6.7.

MEMORANDUM

TO:

Mayor and City Council

FROM:

Pat Klaers, City Ad F... :.nistrator
'l.)
March 7, 2005,

DATE:

SUBJECT:

Discuss Council Worksession Agendas

Since the last discussion on City Council worksession agendas on February 7, 2005, the
transportation issue has advanced to the point where it is ready to be presented to the City
Council. The transportation topic is a follow up to the November Council worksession. In
February the Planning Commission discussed and provided feedback on their transportation
priorities. As in November, most of the Planning Commission is expected to be present for
this worksession. The worksession agenda for the March 14,2005 meeting is proposed as
outlined below.

5.1. City Council Open Forum
5.2. Discuss Extension of the Bailey House Lease
5.3. 185th Street Sidewalk
5.4. Natural Resource Inventory Task Force
5.5. Community Development Director Update
5.6. Transportation Priorities

The April 11 , 2005 worksession meeting includes the following items:

5.1. City Council Open Forum
5.2. Discuss Disposal of 1980 Fire Truck
5.3. Extension of Law Clerk Program
5.4. Capital Improvement Program (CIP)

This April worksession looks brief but the CIP topic is expected to be a 2-3 hour discussion
that includes a 45 minute (Plus) presentation from Ehlers. Material for this meeting will be
distributed a week earlier than normal. The CIP meeting will cover all capital projects that
can realistically be anticipated in the next 10 years (with an emphasis on the first 5 years) and
fund options for these projects. Council direction on desired and needed projects is essential
for the CIP to be an effective plan that reflects City Council priorities.

s: \ Council\Pat\2005 \ W orksessions \ 020705tentag.doc
