<br />ELK RIVER TOWN BOARD MEETING <br />February 1, 1918 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Town Board of Elk River met at A.R. Sellon’s with full attendance. <br /> <br />Present: \[Not listed\] <br /> <br />Sellon Road petition was brought up and route of road was examined and all parties interested were <br />heard from. <br /> <br />A.R. Sellon produced affidavits to show that the proper notices had been posted on billboards and <br />served on persons owning land, by A.R. Sellon and C.W. Guptil, Deputy Sheriff of Sherburne Co. <br /> <br />Motion was made and carried to change Sellon petition. <br /> <br />Sellon, Taylor, and Stuefen being willing and agreeing, the petition was changed to read, “Beginning <br />at a point ten rods east of the northeast corner of the southeast quarter of the southwest quarter of <br />Section six (6) Township thirty-three (33) and Range twenty-six (26), etc.” <br /> <br />Taylors asked $250 damages and Sellon offered them $100. Being unable to come to a settlement <br />between themselves, the Board of Supervisors was called upon to assess the damages. <br /> <br />Damages assessed and awarded by the Town Board, after benefits had been deducted, amounted to <br />$100. <br /> <br />A.R. Sellon turned over a check for $100 to the Town of Elk River. <br /> <br />Order for $100 was made out, for Mrs. J.F. Taylor Estate, and left with Clerk. <br /> <br />Taylors were not willing to sign release. <br /> <br />As there was no further business, meeting was adjourned. <br /> <br /> Carried forward: $1005.13* <br /> Cement sacks +.50 <br /> Received from A.R. Sellon +100.00 <br /> $1105.63 <br /> Bills for Mar. 6, 1917 -73.25 <br /> $1032.38 <br /> Interest paid out -1.43 <br /> Balance Mar. 5, 1918 $1030.95 <br /> <br />Fayette H.
