<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />July 28, 1906 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />At a special meeting of the Common Council held at R.E. Dare’s furniture store, the following <br />members were present, viz.: <br /> <br />Present: R.E. Dare, President; S.M. Crockett and W.P. Rhoda, Trustees; H.C. Hastings, <br />Village Recorder. <br /> <br />The following bills were presented and on motion allowed: <br /> <br />A.N. Dare, printing, $2.25 <br />Fassbender Moses & Co., scale books, $1.00 <br />Frank S. Frye, sundries as per bill, $140.04 <br />James McBride, work on fire engine, $3.00 <br /> <br />On motion it was voted that the Recorder be and is hereby instructed to inform all parties having <br />private scales located in the streets in the Village of Elk River, that they remove same from the <br />streets as soon as possible or within a reasonable time, and that until they are removed from the <br />streets, they shall not be used. <br /> <br />H.C. Hastings tendered his resignation as Village Recorder, and on motion it was voted to accept <br />the same. <br /> <br />On motion it was voted that W.P. Rhoda be and hereby is appointed Village Recorder to fill the <br />vacancy made by the resignation of H.C. Hastings. <br /> <br />The Council appointed H.C. Hastings Village Weighmaster, for which he is to receive the sum of <br />$2.00 per day while employed by the Council for such services. <br /> <br />Adjourned. <br /> <br />H.C.
