<br />Filed June 18, 1900: Treasurer’s rect. for $20.50 payment on ferry. <br /> <br />Filed June 20, 1900: Treasurer’s rect. for $4.00 merry-go-round license. <br /> <br />Filed June 26, 1900: Treasurer’s rect. for $10.00 circus license. <br /> <br />\[Misc. ledger note:\] It took 55 gal paint & <br /> 8 gal oil to paint bridge summer 1900 <br /> total 63 gal <br /> Painter $38.50 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />June 29, 1900 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Regular meeting \[of\] Village Council at 8 P.M. <br /> <br />Present: H.C. Hastings, President; Henry Castle, J.H. Romdeune; R.E. Dare, Village <br />Recorder. <br /> <br />Council thought it advisable to have the saloon keepers here and have a plain talk with them about <br />the way the saloons are to be run. Dare went out and brought Stedman (Rubeck), and Hastings went <br />and brought in Mack. <br /> <br />The Council appointed Mr. Castle spokesman, and he done \[sic\] the talking. <br /> <br />Recorder was instructed to order ½ doz. gasoline street lamps. <br /> <br />The street and walk by old starch factory was talked over and left with Castle and \[illegible\] to <br />consider. <br /> <br />The following bills were read and warrant orders drawn: <br /> <br />T.S. Nickerson, water trough, $5.00 <br />L.G. Davis, wk. on bridge and walk, $10.00 <br />Perry Clute, wk. on sewer, $1.50 <br />R.E. Dare, nails, $1.50 <br />N.K. Whitteman, \[illegible\] house, $36.00 <br />Marshal and st. lamp lighter, $55.00 <br /> <br />Nothing further appearing, we adjourned till next regular \[meeting\]. <br /> <br />R.E.
