<br />Filed February 2, 1900: Receipt from Treasurer for $850.00 liquor license. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />February 13, 1900 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Village Council met in Recorder’s office at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Present: H.C. Hastings, President; Henry Castle, J.S. Guerney, J.H. Romdeune; R.E. Dare, <br />Village Recorder. <br /> <br />Was called to order by Pres. Hastings. <br /> <br />On motion Guerney and Dare were appointed a committee to confer with C.M. Babcock and get <br />figures for rest of building that jail cage is in and also to make arrangements for processing gasoline <br />for street lamps. <br /> <br />On motion Mr. Castle appointed a committee of one to confer with the Town Board and make <br />agreement as to the Village portion of the tax for the Poor Fund. <br /> <br />On motion S.W. Barrett’s bill of $1.00 for load of wood was allowed. <br /> <br />On motion Mr. Hastings, Guerney and Castle were appointed a committee to look after the ferry. <br /> <br />On motion Mr. Guerney was instructed to get a man and to and inspect the bridge at Upper Town <br />and report what repairs they thought it would be necessary to have done this season. <br /> <br />Motion made and carried that we appropriate $10.00 per month for January and February 1900 <br />toward the relief of Mrs. Geo. Barrett and that for March and thereon we allow $8.00 per month for <br />her relief. <br /> <br />On motion we adjourned till Tuesday evening, February 27, 1900, at 7:30 P.M. <br /> <br />R.E.
