Update <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Four candidates for the Director of Planning position are scheduled to be <br />interviewed on Thursday, April 15, 1999. As the council may recall, <br />interviews were held with two applicants during the last week of March, and <br />the position was offered one of those two candidates. This applicant of choice <br />declined the position for a variety of reasons. Following this decision, the <br />interview team felt it was best to meet and discuss the position with <br />additional candidates. I don't think that Louise Kuester can make the April <br />15th interviews, but Doran Cote, also on the Planning Commission, has <br />indicated that he is available. Councilmember Thompson has indicated that <br />he will also be attending these interviews. Hopefully we will be able to find a <br />good candidate, and make a recommendation to the City Council in the near <br />future. <br /> <br />Liauor Store ManaI!er Update <br /> <br />The Liquor Store Manager position was offered to an applicant and after <br />considerable deliberation, he finally decided to decline the position. Per <br />direction from the interview team, and consistent with City Council direction, <br />the Liquor Store Manager position was offered to another candidate. Lori <br />and I met with this candidate on Thursday, and I have made him a fairly <br />normal department head offer for terms and conditions of employment. I <br />have advised him that he could have the weekend to think about the position, <br />and talk it over with his family, but that I would like to hear from him on <br />Monday so I can update the City Council on the status of the position.
