<br />VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING <br />January 24, 1891 <br /> <br />Council met at Recorder’s Office at 9:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Organization of the new Council was \[perfected\] by the qualification of the following members-elect <br />who were present and took the oath of office: <br /> <br /> President: Chas. S. Wheaton <br /> Trustees: D.R. Houlton, N.K. Whittman and D.H. Shaw <br /> Recorder: E.E. Bryant <br /> <br />The application of J.P. Taylor for a license to sell various, small and fermented liquors in the said <br />village was presented and on motion, allowed by the following vote: <br /> <br /> Ayes: Wheaton, Houlton, Whittman, Shaw <br /> Nays: None <br /> <br />The bonds of L. O. Hare, Justice of the Peace-elect and EE. Bryant, Recorder-elect were presented <br />and on motion approved. <br /> <br />On motion, it was voted that the regular meetings of the Council be held on the first Monday of <br />each month at 8:00 p.m. <br /> <br />On motion, adjourned <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Attest: E.E.
