<br />Request for Action <br /> <br /> <br />To Item Number <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council 4.3B <br />Agenda Section Meeting Date Prepared by <br /> <br />ConsentAugust 1, 2016Jessica Miller, Executive Secretary/Deputy City <br /> <br />Clerk <br />Item Description Reviewed by <br />Special Event Permit: Mosaic Sales Tina Allard, City Clerk <br />Solutions/Walmart <br />Reviewed by <br />Cal Portner, City Administrator <br /> <br />Action Requested <br /> <br />Approve, by motion, a special event permit to Mosaic Sales Solutions for an event at Walmart on Sunday, <br />August 7, 2016, subject to the following conditions: <br /> <br />1.Inspection of the outside area will take place prior to each outside event when there is a tent. <br />Applicant must contact the fire marshal at 763.635.1110 during business hours for an inspection <br />after tent area set up. <br /> <br />2.The tents shall be removed within one day of the event and the site returned to its previous <br />condition. <br /> <br />3.Event parking may not obstruct public roadways or render them unsafe for vehicle or pedestrian <br />traffic. <br /> <br />4.If traffic becomes a problem around the temporary site, the area shall be delineated with a barrier to <br />restrict traffic. <br /> <br />5.No electrical services shall be across any drive or walking surface. <br /> <br />6.All temporary signs shall receive a permit prior to display. <br /> <br />7.All food service must comply with state licensing regulations. <br /> <br />Background/Discussion <br /> <br />Mosaic Sales Solutions has submitted, on behalf of Walmart, an application to hold a special event on <br />Sunday, August 7, 2016. The event will feature sales representatives giving away pre-packaged food from <br />tents set up outside the Walmart store.
