Request for Action <br />To <br />Item Number <br />Mayor and City Council <br />4.11 <br />Agenda Section <br />Meeting Date <br />lFebruary1, <br />Prepared by <br />Consent <br />2016 <br />Chris Leeseber , Senior Planner <br />Item Description <br />Reviewed by <br />Authorization to Re -Zone City Owned Property <br />I Zack Carlton, Planning Manager <br />Reviewed by <br />Action Requested <br />Authorize staff to proceed with rezoning the two vacant city owned parcels west of Westbound Liquor. <br />Background/Discussion <br />The two subject properties are currently zoned C-4 (Community Commercial) and this area, along with <br />three other small areas, are the only C-4 zones in the city. The attached exhibit shows these areas. <br />Staff has been approached a few times by individuals inquiring about uses that are not allowed in the C-4 <br />district but would be allowed in the C-3 (Highway Commercial) district, for example, business and office <br />uses. Rezoning these parcels would increase their marketability. <br />The southwest and southeast corners of the Hwy 10/Joplin intersection are zoned C-3.
