~ity of <br /> <br />iver <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />Item #3.7 <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Mayor and City Council <br /> <br />Sandra Peine, City Clerk <br /> <br />May 8, 2000 <br /> <br />Set Hearing Date for Liquor Violations <br /> <br />REQUEST: <br /> <br />The Council is requested to set a liquor compliance hearing date of May 22, <br />2000, to consider imposing penalties for failure of a liquor compliance check. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND: <br /> <br />During the last liquor compliance check, three establishments sold liquor to <br />minors in the City; Applebees, Rons, and Pizza Hut. According to the City's <br />liquor ordinance, these establishment must be afforded an opportunity for a <br />hearing before the Council before a penalty is imposed. <br /> <br />As required by ordinance, the above three establishments will be given 10 <br />days notice of the May 22 hearing. <br /> <br />The violation for a first offense is $500.00. <br /> <br />ACTION REQUESTED: <br /> <br />Council motion calling a liquor compliance hearing date of May 22, 2000. <br />S: \ COUNCIL\liqhear.doc <br /> <br />13065 Orono Parkway · P.O.
