BACKGROUND/DISCUSSION At the April 16, 2012, meeting, the City Council discussed and directed staff to amend the special event ordinance in order to allow private events to be held on city property. The changes have been incorporated into the attached draft ordinance. Events held on park pxoperry have been listed as an exemption because the Pazks and Recreation Department already issues permits fox events on pazk pxopexry. How other events or businesses may be affected The ordinance allows CouncIl to impose reasonable conditions on an event. Such conditions may include providing notice to surrounding businesses of an event ox providing for a location or route change to an event. 3. Staff overtime/compensation time As discussed at the April 16 meeting, seasonal part-time staff would be utilized when needed at a cost to be charged to the applicant.
