;ity of <br /> <br />River <br /> <br />MEMORANDUM <br /> <br />Item #6.10. <br /> <br />TO: <br /> <br />FROM: <br /> <br />DATE: <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />Mayor & City Council <br /> <br />Phil Hals, Street/Park Superintendent <br /> <br />February 26, 1998 <br /> <br />Park and Recreation Commission <br />Recommendation for Donation Towards <br />Parker School Playground Equipment <br /> <br />The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) from Parker School approached the <br />Park and Recreation Commission (via staff) to request a donation towards a <br />new piece of playground equipment. The estimated cost for the playground <br />equipment is $30,000. The PTO has currently raised $20,000, and has <br />requested a donation from the city towards this project in view of the fact <br />that the school playground complex serves the community as a neighborhood <br />park. <br /> <br />This request is identical to one last year from the Handke PTO where $3,000 <br />was donated for playground equipment (see attached memo and minutes). <br /> <br />Recommendation <br /> <br />The Park and Recreation Commission recommends that the City Council <br />authorize a $3,000 donation to the Park/Lincoln School Complex. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br />· January 14, 1998, Park and Recreation Commission Minutes <br />· June 16, 1997, Council Memo Regarding Handke Request <br />· May 14, 1997, Park and Recreation Commission Minutes <br /> <br />13065 Orono Parkway · P.O.
