Item Description Reviewed by Resolution Ordering the Preparation of a Feasibility Report for Lori ohnson, Ci Administrator the 2010 Main Street Pavement Rehabilitation Project Reviewed by Action Requested Consider attached resolution ordering the preparation of a Feasibility Report for the 2010 Main Street Pavement Rehabilitation Project. Background/Discussion The 2010 Capital Improvement Plans calls for the improvement of Main Street from Lowell Avenue to the Bridge over the Elk River. Additionally, the segment from Orono Road to the bridge is in need of improvement and is a logical piece to be combined with this project. The City typically funds street improvements all or in part through special assessments to the benefiting properties. The first step in the statutorily required process to levy special assessments is to study and report on the project in a Feasibility Report. The City Council has requested that a neighborhood meeting be held to inform residents on the proposed project and collect input related to this improvement. This meeting can be held on Apri126, 2010 at 6:30 p.m. if the City Council would like to proceed. All residents that abut this segment of Main Street will be invited to attend this meeting. Some properties have been previously assessed for street improvements. It is staffs understanding that the properties that were assessed fox previous projects, with the exception of the 1988 Main Street Project, will not be assessed for this project.
