ct~®n eues~ <br />~~ <br />Staff requests Council approval of closing the en~.•ance to the old liquor store site from Main Street, <br />J a.ck r®unl ~scussian <br />The Council has approved the demolition of the old liquor store building and the conversion of the site <br />to vegetation with a storm water rain garden in the approximate location of the present building, For <br />public safety concerns, staff recommends closing the access onto Main Street during the demolition and <br />ne-grading of the site. Staff estimates the demolition and ne-grading project to be completed by May ~, <br />with consideration tal~en for weather and raad restrictions, After completion of this project, Z would <br />recommend leaving that access closed, which would allow the expansion of the right turn lane on west <br />bound Main Street. <br />The tentative demolition schedule is as follows: <br />March 22 -March 2G <br />The Reuse Centex, a recycling contractor, will remove the fluorescent lights, interior doors, <br />windows, furnaces, ait• conditioner and electric panel. <br />March 29 -~~A r <br />The street division will remove interior sheet rocl~, insulation, duct work, exterior sheet metal, metal <br />building frame, and recycle interio~.• piping. <br />The balance of the time will be needed for the street division and a local contraction to remove the <br />basement walls and footings, The stt•eet division will remove the blacktop parking lot and parking lot <br />lights. Sherburne County Soil and water Conservation Distt•ict staff have secured a grant for the design <br />and planting of a rain garden on this site.
