Due to the lift Muck and labors costs, the most cost effective <br />method of lamp replacement is to replace all of the lamps at once. The lamps typical life <br />expectancy is ~ 0 years and they are now 1 ~ years old. <br />The primary use of Orono Park softball fields is for adult softball. ~n 2004, when the Parl~s <br />and Recreation Department was established, the Ells River Softball Association was running <br />the softball leagues at Drano Park. Since that time, the Softball Association has disbanded <br />and the leagues have been managed by the Parks and Recreation Department. when the <br />Association disbanded they turned aver the balance of their funds x$13,000} to the city for <br />field improvements. These funds are scheduled to be used in 2010 fox needed replacement <br />of the roofs on all of the structures at the mono Complex and 1~uss Field, <br />Staff has researched retrofitting the lights with high efficiency fixtures, however, the cost <br />would be X200,000 and the payback on investment is aver twenty years. <br />Based on available funding, staffs recommendation is to re-lamp the arono Softball <br />Complex at a cost of $15,000 in 2011 as scheduled. Staff is unaware of any complaints from <br />league participants regarding the current lights. <br />
