cti~n egu~se <br />Council motion to purchase three ~3} Ford Crown <br />amount of X6$,748,0$, including sales tax. <br />a~ckr®unl iscussi~n <br />Victoria squad cars from. the State contract in the <br />The requested purchase is part of the routine three year, ~1 D0,~00 mile} patrol squad replacement cycle as <br />established by the city Fleet Committee and which has been used by the police department for many <br />years, The requested vehicles are 2010 Ford Crown Victot'ia Police Interceptors, which is the industry <br />standard, The police department has had extensive experience and success using these vehicles, The new <br />squads will replace one patrol squad and two sergeant squads. <br />The requested vehicles will be purchased off of the Minnesota fleet contract, which has been awarded to <br />Elk River Ford. <br />i~ncia~l Im pct <br />Funds were originally budgeted in the 2010 Equipment Replacement Fund in the amount of X99,000 to <br />cover costs including vehicle purchase, old squad bear down, setup, graphics, and miscellaneous expenses <br />associated with squad replacement. <br />The City was awarded a Byrne Grant through the office of Jusd.ce Programs ~oJP} in the amount of <br />X20,740 to defray the cost of one squad car purchase. The Byrne grant award reduced the final adopted <br />budget amount to $78,000, The requested amount of ~G$,745,08 is fox the initial purchase of the squads <br />only.
