Solid Waste Facility License <br />2. Conditional Use Permit <br />These are both subject to the proposed language changes which either have a strikethrough or are <br />highlighted in the attached CUP and license. <br />Staff supports a recommendation to approve the amendment to GRE's Solid Waste Facility License <br />with the modifications proposed by city staff. <br />Staff supports a recommendation to approve the amendment to GRE's Conditional Use Permit <br />with the modifications proposed by city staff. <br />Introduction <br />Great River Energy (GRE) is requesting approval to burn alternative fuels at the Elk River Station to <br />help ensure the future economic viability of the project. The alternative fuels would be tire-derived <br />fuel (TDF), wood and wood waste. These fuels would be used in conjunction with refuse-derived <br />fuel (RDF). <br />Attachments <br />• Location Map <br />• GRE Elk River Campus Site Map <br />• CUP application from GRE, dated August 31, 2009 <br />• Letter dated October 6, 2009 from John Lichter, Liesch Associates, Inc. <br />• The current CUP and SWFL for the facility <br />
